Fraudulent medical certificates used by 2 former officers of Department of Immigration and Border Protection

A joint investigation by the Australian Commission for Law Enforcement Integrity and the Department of Home Affairs found 2 former officers had engaged in corrupt conduct between 2011 and 2017.
One of the former officers provided 6 fraudulent medical certificates, and received a benefit of approximately $384.75 that they were not entitled to.
The second former officer was found to have used false medical certificates to support applications for personal leave on 28 occasions and received a benefit of approximately $9,270 that they were not entitled to. The officer was convicted and sentenced to a 12-month good behaviour order and 200 hours of community service. They were also ordered to repay $4,564.12 within 2 years (the remaining amount of $4,705.57 was recovered by Home Affairs upon separation).
