On 25 October 2022, 15 participants commenced the Counter-fraud Practitioner Training Program Pilot. This pilot consisted of 5 full-day workshops across 5 weeks, covering a range of topics designed to address core skills required for a comprehensive counter-fraud approach. APSACC - Australia’s leading public sector anti-corruption conference was held mid-November 2022 and had more than 500 delegates from a wide range government entities. Officials spoke about the latest trends, research and practices in preventing, exposing and responding to corrupt conduct and corruption risks in the public sector.

During International Fraud Awareness Week (13-19 November 2022) we ran capability building webinars to help Australian Government entities strengthen their counter-fraud knowledge and expertise.

The Centre is undergoing a review of Section 10 of the Public Governance, Performance Accountability Rule 2014 (the Fraud Rule).

The United Kingdom's Public Sector Fraud Authority (PSFA) was launched on 3 August 2022. The authority will be made up of counter-fraud and data experts, using best-in-class tools and advanced analytics to help departments and public bodies protect public money.

We recently interviewed ASIC Integrity Risk Specialist Stella Birch, on their experience engaging with the centre's Capability Development Support Package.

Robust frameworks and control environments are key to protecting the APS, and the businesses and citizens that we interact with, from the growing economic and societal problem of fraud.
